I&#039;ve been thinking about these issues for some time as I&#039;m an artist with a hearing aid implant that gets gawked at constantly and has decided to embellish my &quot;curiosity&quot; by creating wearable sculptures for it. My hearing loss has led me to open up to the complexity of critical disability studies (for lack of a better term) and its potential relationship to representation.  I think there is much to expand upon in your post but as a personal note, as a statement of choice, it is wonderful. Best to you!</description>
