Laura,

Those were wonderful days. I am so happy you married one of them and have lived “happily ever after.” That school was a god-send and drew me back to myself. I so enjoyed doing all that singing, the plays, the choirs, the dancing. And we were so lucky to have a bunch of liberal nuns letting us go for it.

I also remember those Joe Louis’, food fights and great times in the lunch room. You were so funny.

XOXOXOXO

I am thrilled to see those pictures. Many memories of time spent with the "Choir Boys". I'm so glad I married one of them. My husband and I (Paul) had a great time looking through the photos on Facebook and remembering how we met and the times spent at our play practices. Our children love to hear our stories of how we met and the things we did at their age. My oldest son is now the age I was when I first met my husband. How weird to think he could meet his life partner now. Music is a big part of our lives and it gives me great joy to watch my own children play piano, guitar and sing.
Estee I remember so fondly you singing at our Mother-Daughter Nights, Father-Daughter Nights and various talent show / variety nights... ahh... the days... yes they do ground us and take us to happier times!

I'm glad to hear you are working your way through the aftermath of your divorce. And it's great to "hear" your voice again (i.e. posting).

I agree that returning to our roots gives us strength when we experience times of increased change or stress. For me, I return to my love of fiction for solace. No matter how difficult the challenges I face, there's always a character who faces worse conditions and comes through triumphant. Sometimes I need to be reminded of what's possible through the imagination and determination.

Sing, dance, and be merry. Especially during the hard times, we need to cling to our joys. Joy never really leaves us. Sometimes we just sort of let it go.
