I loved this! I agree-it is important to dive in and drink deeply of your emotions-all of them. While our feelings are not there to control us, they are there to teach us, I think. They are not always right, but they are such well-intentioned friends. I always thought Little Match Girl was trying to show me that a life was meant to be examined as a whole, not as good parts and tragic parts. That as a whole, life is meaningful, and beautiful, no matter how much sadness and hardship was inside of it. I always love what you write! And I had to comment on this amazing post, even though you are an actual writer, and I am the queen of run on sentences. (I just figured they must be hard to read)

I just had to comment on this beautiful post Estee. Profoundly moving. I've got a dose of Bag Lady fear myself, and I almost can't read The Little Match Girl. Almost. But I'm not sure if the tears it draws from me are because I read it as a sad story or a happy one. Maybe it is both. In my own journey, I've come to appreciate shades of grey. What more can I say? Thank you.
