This may be a bit simplistic, but I love the saying. The grass is certainly not greener on the other side, it is greener where you water it. You are not just watering your own grass but, fertilizing it and keeping out those ugly weeds that choke the beauty out of any lawn. It is much more productive to water your own grass than to peer over the fence in awe of the neighbor's astrolawn. Yes, astrolawn advertises synthetic beauty, and the ease of having the "perfect" lawn with no grass stains or bugs, but I happen to like the dirt and the bugs. Without the "dirt" in our lives, how can we grasp the pure essence of joy, or even begin to recognize the beauty to be beheld or the beauty sitting right in our laps?
