I recently attempted to procure medical benefits on my own (outside of my employer's benefit package) only to be blatantly denied by Assurant Health due solely to the fact that my son is autistic. I blogged about the encounter and my quest for procuring benefits in the hope of simply making more people aware of the "discrimination" taking place in that industry.
